Leadership and Governance

The school is led day to day by a senior leadership team, and overseen by a board of governors who bring experience from education, business, law, medicine and the local community.

Senior Leadership Team

The team who lead the school day to day, each responsible for one part of school life.

Head Jonathan Hartwell

Overall leadership of the school, its ethos and its standards.

Deputy Head (Pastoral) Eleanor Whitcombe

Pastoral care, behaviour, wellbeing and the tutor system. Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Deputy Head (Academic) Richard Pemberton

Curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and examinations.

Head of Boarding Catherine Aldridge

Boarding houses, boarding staff, weekend programme and the health centre.

Head of Sixth Form Thomas Fairbairn

Sixth Form pastoral care, enrichment, university and careers guidance.

Bursar Margaret Holloway

Finance, facilities, catering, transport and operations.

Director of Admissions Charlotte Radley

Enquiries, visits, applications, scholarships and bursaries.

Governance

The Board of Governors

Governors are responsible for the strategic direction of the school, for its finances and for making sure it meets every legal and regulatory requirement, including those for safeguarding, health and safety and boarding.

The board meets at least once a term, with committees for education, finance, estates and pastoral care. A named governor has oversight of safeguarding and another of boarding.
