Learning Support
Every pupil learns differently. Our learning support and EAL teams make sure each one can thrive in a demanding academic environment.
Support That Fits the Pupil
Our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) leads a team of specialist teachers who work with pupils, families and subject staff.
We support pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia, attention difficulties and other needs that can be met within a mainstream setting. Support may include individual or small-group lessons, in-class strategies, study-skills coaching and access arrangements for examinations.
We discuss every pupil's needs openly with families during admissions, so that we can be confident we will support them well. Please share any assessments or reports when you apply.
Support for International Pupils
Pupils whose first language is not English receive specialist EAL lessons in small groups, timetabled alongside their other subjects, and in-class support where needed. We prepare pupils for IELTS and other English qualifications.
Progress is reviewed each term, and lessons are reduced as fluency grows. Most international pupils are fully independent in their studies within [a year].
There is [no additional charge / an additional charge] for EAL tuition. See fees.
